On this page we have collected examples of downloadable logic diagrams. The intention is that bodybuilders can use them as they are or adjust them to suit their own needs.

Description
With this function, the engine will be shut down automatically if the engine temperature gets too high or the oil pressure gets too low.
An emergency stop switch makes it possible to shut down the engine if there is a risk of personal injury.
Suitable for applications such as:
- Timber trucks
- Tankers
- Crane trucks
Function
If the emergency stop switch is activated, the first operator [&] will sense if the EG power take-off is activated. In this case, the engine will be shut down.
The engine will also be shut down if any of the following functions are activated in combination with the EG power take-off:
- Low oil pressure
- High coolant temperature
If the EG power take-off is not connected, the emergency stop will not affect the engine.
Description
Remote engine start is used to start the engine without having to turn the starter key to the start position, for example by using a switch outside the cab.
Suitable for applications such as:
- Concrete mixer trucks
- Crane trucks
Function
The engine will start if a low or high signal1 is activated via pin 9 (optional) in harness-to-harness connector C259.
To be able to receive the signals outside the cab, it is suitable to connect a cable harness for bodywork functions to harness-to-harness connector C494. The cable harness is distributed to the 3 DIN harness-to-harness connectors C486, C487 and C488.

Description
Remote engine shutdown is used to shut down the engine without having to turn the starter key to the locked position, for example by using a switch outside the cab.
Suitable for applications such as:
- Concrete mixer trucks
- Crane trucks
Function
The engine will start if a low or high signal 1 is activated via pin 10 (optional) in harness-to-harness connector C259.
To be able to receive the signals outside the cab, it is suitable to connect a cable harness for bodywork functions to harness-to-harness connector C494. The cable harness is distributed to the 3 DIN harness-to-harness connectors C486, C487 and C488.

Description
With this function, the engine speed can be controlled from outside the cab by using a connection via the BCI control unit.
Suitable for applications such as:
- Fire engines
- Concrete mixer trucks
- Concrete pump trucks
Function
Connection via harness-to-harness connector C259
- The engine speed will increase if a low or high signal1 is activated via pin 1 (optional) in harness-to-harness connector C259.
- The engine speed will increase if a low or high signal1 is activated via pin 2 (optional) in harness-to-harness connector C259.
To be able to receive the signals outside the cab, it is suitable to connect a cable harness for bodywork functions to harness-to-harness connector C494. The cable harness is distributed to the 3 DIN harness-to-harness connectors C486, C487 and C488.
Connection via EXT switch
Connect via the EXT switch to be able to control the engine speed from outside the cab.
When the EXT switch is activated and the power take-off is engaged, engine speed 1 will be activated.
Note: The EK power take-off shown in this logic diagram is only an example. All types of power take-offs can be connected.
The Engine speed 1 parameter must be adjusted in Scania’s programming tool for bodybuilders (SDP3), as shown in the illustration below.
- Type of Control: Switch module for cruise control.
- Other setting values depend on the needs of the bodywork.

Description
With this function, the engine speed can be controlled from outside the cab by using a CAN message from an external control unit.
Suitable for applications such as:
- Fire engines
- Concrete mixer trucks
- Concrete pump trucks
Connecting CAN Signals
C493-3
Connect the bodywork function to low external CAN signal via harness-to-harness connector C493, pin 3.
C493-4
Connect the bodywork function to low external CAN signal via harness-to-harness connector C493, pin 4.
Function
To be able to increase or decrease the engine speed, the correct CAN messages according to protocol J1939 must be sent to the control unit for the electrical interface (BCI, Bodywork Communication Interface).
The following logic diagram makes it possible to use CAN messages to control the engine speed from outside the cab. When the EXT switch is activated and the power take-off is engaged, engine speed 1 will be activated.
Note: The EK power take-off shown in this logic diagram is only an example. All types of power take-offs can be connected. The Engine speed 1 parameter must be adjusted in Scania’s programming tool for bodybuilders (SDP3), as shown in the illustration below.

Description
With this function, the engine speed can be increased to a preset value with different conditions, for example with a power take-off engaged, as shown in the example below.
Example applications:
- Preparing the engine for platform tipping.
- Preparing the engine for crane raising.
Suitable for applications such as:
- Tipper trucks
- Crane trucks
Function
To be able to receive the signals outside the cab, it is suitable to connect a cable harness for bodywork functions to harness-to-harness connector C494. The cable harness is distributed to the 3 DIN harness-to-harness connectors C486, C487 and C488.
The following logic diagram makes it possible to increase the engine speed to a preset value. When the EG power take-off is connected engine speed 1 will be activated.
Note: The EG power take-off shown in this logic diagram is only an example. All types of power take-offs can be connected.

Description
This function can be used to show messages from the bodywork in the instrument cluster.
Suitable for all types of applications.
Function
The display for driver’s information in the instrument cluster will be activated if a low or high signal1 is activated via pin 1 (optional) in harness-to-harness connector C259.
To be able to receive the signals outside the cab, it is suitable to connect a cable harness for bodywork functions to harness-to-harness connector C494. The cable harness is distributed to the 3 DIN harness-to-harness connectors C486, C487 and C488.

Description
This function prevents the driver from driving with an unlocked fifth wheel.
If the lock is opened while driving, the driver will receive a warning indication and the vehicle speed will be reduced to 10 km/h (6 mph).
Suitable for applications such as:
- Vehicles with adjustable fifth wheel
- Tractors
Function
- When the fifth wheel switch and the handbrake are activated, operator [&] will open the fifth wheel lock if the vehicle speed is lower than 1 km/h (0.6 mph).
- When the function is activated, it is possible to release the handbrake and drive the vehicle to adjust the position of the fifth wheel.
- When driving with the fifth wheel switch activated, the function will close the fifth wheel lock if the vehicle speed is higher than 5 km/h (3.1 mph).
- If the fifth wheel switch is not deactivated while driving, the speed will not exceed 10 km/h (6 mph).
- If any sensor detects that the fifth wheel is moving, the driver will receive a warning indication in the instrument cluster.
- If both sensors detect that the fifth wheel is in the open position, the driver will receive a warning indication in the instrument cluster and the vehicle speed will be reduced to 10 km/h (6 mph).
Note:
The dependence of the parking brake ensures that the vehicle is stationary when activating the function.
The speed values for conditional control must be adjusted with Scania’s programming tool for bodybuilders (SDP3), as shown in the illustration below.
Conditional output signals 1:
- Upper vehicle speed limit for permissible activation.
Value set at: 1 km/h
- Upper vehicle speed limit for deactivation.
Value set at: 5 km/h
- Inhibit reactivation

Description
This function makes it possible to get indications in the instrument cluster if the trailer coupling is open or closed. The indicator lamp can be switched off by a spring-loaded acknowledgement switch.
If the trailer coupling is open, the indicator lamp for open towing unit will light up immediately.
Suitable for vehicles with remote controlled towing coupling for trailer or coupled dolly with semi-trailer.
Function
This function makes it possible to get indications in the instrument cluster if the trailer coupling is open or closed. The indicator lamp can be switched off by a spring-loaded acknowledgement switch.
If the trailer coupling is open, the indicator lamp for open towing unit will light up immediately.
Suitable for vehicles with remote controlled towing coupling for trailer or coupled dolly with semi-trailer.
