CO2 DECLARATION AND CONFIRMATION OF CONFORMITY

Determination of a heavy vehicle’s CO2 emissions and fuel consumption

From 1 January 2019 (pursuant to 2007/46/EC as a result of EU Regulation 2017/2400), it will be required by law that fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions are declared for vehicles with the following wheel configurations: 4x2, 6x2, 6x2/2, 6x2/4 and 6x2*2.

After 1 July 2019, it will not be possible to register a vehicle manufactured before 2019 if Member States have not granted final series registration.

Calculation of fuel consumption and CO2 is done in VECTO, a simulation tool provided by the European Commission for all vehicles covered by the legislation. The CO2 values are calculated for the base vehicle as well as a standard bodywork or trailer when the vehicle is manufactured. The values must be presented in a customer information file that is supplied with the vehicle.

“Cryptographic hash of the manufacturer’s master file”, has been added to the CoC for step-by-step complete vehicles row 49.

Common Reporting Portal

Scania will launch a new program called Common Reporting Portal (CRP) in January 2019, in which the bodybuilders who wrote MSCA with Scania will have access to the cryptographic hash of the manufacturer’s master file as well as copies of CoC and CO2 in PDF and XML format. CRP is available on the following page:
